Embracing the Journey: It’s Okay to Not Have All the Answers

At The Suggs Foundation, we understand the weight of responsibility that comes with caring for loved ones. Whether you’re a provider, caregiver, or parent, the journey can sometimes feel overwhelming. There are days when it seems like no matter how much you plan, organize, and advocate, there are still hurdles that make the process exhausting. And guess what? That’s okay.

This past week has been one of those weeks for me. Between getting my boys enrolled in programs that will support them, coordinating with hospitals to ensure documentation is in place, and navigating the complexities of after-school programs, I found myself emotionally drained. Despite my best efforts, I allowed my emotions to spiral out of control. But here’s what I’ve learned—it’s okay to feel overwhelmed. It’s okay to have moments where it all feels like too much. What matters most is how we choose to move forward.

At The Suggs Foundation, we encourage all our caregivers and parents to embrace the importance of self-care. You cannot pour from an empty cup, and recognizing when you need to refocus, regroup, and recharge is essential. Taking a step back to breathe, reflect, and reset does not mean you’re failing—it means you are human.

If you find yourself in a season of uncertainty or stress, know that you are not alone. Seeking answers is a journey, and it’s perfectly fine to not have everything figured out right away. Continue to push forward, continue to advocate, and most importantly, continue to care for yourself along the way.

Together, we uplift and support one another. The road may be challenging, but with grace, patience, and self-compassion, we will navigate it one step at a time.

I have felt overwhelmed with many of life challenges lately, However, I have found early morning meditation and breakfast helps me to really relax and pour into myself for a sec. What are some of your ways of coping with lifes challenges?
